Recognation in Book by Jeffery C. Stewart

Managed the database for the collection catalog for the Winold Reiss Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery

The exhibition, To Color America: Portraits by Winold Reiss, curated by Dr. Jeffery C. Stewart was developed for the Smithsonian Institute's National Portrait Gallery, Institute and later became a traveling exhibition. Accompanying the exhibition was a published catalogue exploring the life of the artist and an illustrated checklist of all known Reiss works.

Carla Simon worked on both, but her emphasis was on the illustrated checklist. Her duties included developing a database of the work and a series of notebooks containing photographs of each piece of work catagorized by subject and cross referenced by ethnicity. Carla prepared or coordinated both systems to turn over to the publishers.
